It works both as a bottle stopper and, thanks to its included glass stand, as a display object when not in use.

The One Big Thing
A line attributed to the ancient Greek poet Archilochus survives: “The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.” In one of Aesop’s fables, a hedgehog refuses to let a swarm of flies be brushed off it — because it knows that chasing off the well-fed ones would only bring hungrier ones in their place. The hedgehog’s strength was never in its speed, but in knowing exactly what it knew.
This stopper’s hedgehog figure carries that quiet wisdom. It is produced in our atelier by investment casting: a hand-shaped wax model, a refractory mould, then stainless steel poured at high heat. Every quill is worked individually into the hand-finished surface.
The food-safe inner stopper keeps wine from air; when not in use, the figure rests on its own glass stand. It comes in three colour options. Like the one big thing the hedgehog knew, this sculpture claims a simple, certain place on your table.
